History:

In order to improve youth ski jumping in Tyrol in the beginning 1960’s the decision was made to built a small ski jump in the area of Innsbruck.
In 1964 in Natters, a small town at the southern city end of Innsbruck, this project was realized. Consequently the ski club worked with young ski jumpers from the Innsbruck area. So many talented ski jumpers and Nordic combined developed and came up until the national team in order to compete succesfully for their home country Austria.
To be able to satisfy the needs of summer training the ski club of Natters realized the covering of the hills with plastic mattings in 1995 with the help of the national ski association.
In autumn 2005 the Herrensteigschanze shall be renamed into Toni-Geiger-Schanze. This honours his work as Tyrolean ski jumper, judge, functional and later active supporter of the construction of the plastic covered hills. Also the construction of another K60 hill is planned and in 200772008 the two existing jumps were modernized rootedly and covered with new plastic mattings.
The section ski of SC Raika Natters, which was been outsourced under the name SV Innsbruck-Bergisel, is the care holder of the ski jumps.
