After a two-year-long conversion for the Nordic WSC 2025, the Granåsen ski jumping hills in Trondheim were re-opened on February 1 as K124 and K94.

2022-06-14: Fire destroys ski jumps in Biberau-Biberschlag

Due to a fire, the ski jumping hills in Biberau-Biberschlag (Thuringia, Germany) were massively damaged. A news, which caused consternation not only in the region itself. The cause of the fire remains unclear, the criminial investigation department of the Suhl police assumes it was torching. Meanwhile, SV Biberau has established a donations account.

2022-03-29: Copper Peak: Funding of the renovation finally secured

With a recently passed bill, the senate of Michigan has approved funding of 20 million US dollars for the renovation of the ski flying hill at Ironwood. The modernization as the world's largest summer hill could happen until 2024.

2022-03-07: 200 ski jumping facilities in the USA

The ski jumping hill of Stoughton, Wisconsin, was built in 1911 and was one of the largest at its time. It is the 200th ski jumping facility in the United States that we have listed in the Ski Jumping Hill Archive!

2021-10-19: The Ski Jumping Hill Archive reaches 3000 ski jumping sites!

We have reached another milestone by adding the 3000th ski jumping facility to the archive! It is a small, recently built ski jump for summer training at Inland Athletic Park in Calgary, Canada.

Josef Matouš never jumped 179 m at WR crash

He never crashed at 179 m (WR with crash) on 17 March 1979. IT WAS ONLY AXEL ZITZMANN Beside he ended his career already in 1974.

PLEASE DELETE IT OUT OF RECORDS LIST, IT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE.

Skispringen auf der Zorger Schanze 1952

Ich, Hartmut Ehrt geb. 1939 nahm 1952 am Skispringen auf der Zorger Schanze teil und belegte in der Kat. Schüler den 1.Platz mit Weiten von 19.0 und 19.5m.Sieger wurde Georg Weichert mit 28m. Als Buben sprangen wir im Training ca. 25m (mit Holzner Abfahrtsski aus Holz) weit.Im Frühjahr 1952 verlies ich die Zorger Schule und damit war es vorbei mit dem Skispringen im Harz.Im Taunus versuchte ich es etwa 10 Jahre später nochmals auf der alten Weiltalschanze.

Official hill record

We consider the "Official hill record" the same as the FIS "WC hill record", which can only be set by ski jumpers during official rounds of WC, WSC, SFWC, and Olympics (and GP in summer). Thus, Riiber's amazing jump is not considered as "Official hill record". Nevertheless, it's still the "hill record" :-)
