In the north-east of Fairbanks in middle 1930’s the small Birch Hill Ski jump was constructed.
From late 1940’s to 1982/83 the “University of Alaska at Fairbanks” had an own skiing hill with a 30 meter ski jumping hill on its campus in the north-west of Fairbanks, which was also called Skarland Jump.
Some jumpers from Fairbanks constructed in 1956 Chena Ridge Jump, which was only used until 1960, but for some years hosted the local “Golden Nugget” skiing championships.
