The Tannberget ski jumping complex in Lycksele was established in 1968, with the K76 hill, known as Himlabacken, being the largest of its kind in the region. The hill record stood at 76.5 meters, although the name of the jumper who set it is unknown. In 1972, international competitions were held there, during which Finnish ski jumper Esko Rautionaho achieved a jump of 76 meters, one of the best results on this hill. Rautionaho (nickname “Piki”) represented the Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura club and competed for Finland at the Olympic Games in 1972 and 1976.
Today, the Tannberget area is used as a cross-country skiing center, offering a variety of trails for enthusiasts of the sport.
