History:

The members of SC Attinghausen constructed their first ski jumping hill in 1958 on Brüsti at 1,525 meters altitude. The so called Surenenschanze had a critical point of 36 meters and was inaugurated on January 6, 1959. Winner of the opening competition was Andreas Däscher with a hill record of 39 meters. Already on January 31, 1959 the central-Swiss championships were held there - winner of the ski jumping competition was Karl Gamma from Andermatt.
Surenen-Schanze was then also certified by the Swiss Ski Association and used for training purposes by the squads of SSV and ZSSV. From 1967 on annual Nordic Combined competitions were organized, in which also national-level athletes competed. Unfortunately, operation of the hill ended in 1983. Due to decreasing interest in the ski jumping hill, it was decided not to carry out essential modernization works that had been recommended by hill chief Giacomo Baldissera.
