History:

Instead of the depleted quarry, the first ski jump was built in the mining town of Kirovsk in the Murmansk region in the 1930s. In 1970, there were two ski jumps K62 and K35 and the first international competitions took place in Kirowsk. In 1973, the 100-meter ski jump could be inaugurated. During the Soviet era, the "Polar Olympics" or the "Festival of the North" were held there. After the end of the USSR, the ski jumps were hardly used anymore and were abandoned around 2000.
