At Kirov on Vyatka the large 90 meter hill with its impressive steel structure was built in 1951 and was at that time one of Europe's largest hills. Many national competitions had been hosted there over the years and with Dmitry Kochkin, Alexei Borovitin or Vyacheslav Dryagin a few top ski jumpers were promoted.
Education of young ski jumpers is still important in Kirov and thus a fundamental modernization of the ski jumps is planned.
