History:

Magadan is located in the far east of Russia at the Sea of Okhotsk. Since 2002 every April a night competition has been hosted on the 1981/82 constructed K61 ski jumping hill, in which sometimes also the best Russian jumpers take part as a final of the season. The "Osvsm Magadan" and the affiliated ski school are very active in training young ski jumpers and have already developed national top athletes such as Dmitry Ipatov or Alexandra Kustova.
In end of March 2012 a 14.9m Rubles (about 390k Euro) fund was provided for the construction of a K95 normal hill. However, this new-construction was not realized. Instead, in the next years at least the existing hill of the "Solar" ski jumping centre shall be modernized and equipped with plastic mattings.

New jump

The new jump will be located at the banks of Nagaeva bay, not near the current "Solar" complex. Planning of the jump has started and construction of a modern K95 shall be finished by 2012, according to Russian newspapers.
