History:

The ski jumping hill in the village Ruczynów near Busko-Zdrój is a completely grassroots project of ski jumping enthusiast Mateusz Seremak. With his son Kacper in mind, inspired by the small mobile jump on the paddock of the flying ski jump in Planica, Seremak set about building a similar facility right next to his own home. The start of the works took place on 3 November 2018 and the inauguration of the facility took place exactly one year later. All work was carried out by the initiator himself together with his family.
In 2020, the Seremak family and a group of inSJders, ski jumping enthusiasts joined forces and organised the first edition of the inSJders Cup Amateur Jumping at the Ruczynów Arena. The open-formula competition on the backyard ski jumping hill attracted a lot of media attention, with 29 competitors taking part. Among them was 90-year-old Jerzy Cieńciała, a former athlete of the LZS Barania Wisła club, for whom the performance in Ruczynów was a return to the ski jumping hill after 65 (!) years.
The success of the first edition resulted in 35 competitors taking part in the 2nd inSJders Cup, and the event was held under the honorary patronage of the Polish Ski Association. In May 2021, a demonstration training session of the LKS Klimczok Bystra club was held on the ski jump for the first time, with the son of the host of the facility, Kacper Seremak, as a competitor. Like the inSJders Cup, the event became a cyclical event, organised in Ruczynów once a year.
In autumn 2021, the conversion of the ski jumping hill to K7/HS8 size started. The total cost of the works on the facility was 35,000 zł. The reconstruction was completed in June 2022 and already one month later it hosted the third edition of the inSJders Cup Amateur Jumping. Fifty-two starters took part, including the coach of the Polish B-ski jumping team Maciej Maciusiak and athletes with starts in the Continental Cup: Jędrzej Ścisłowicz and Wiktor Pękala. The winner was the IMC (veterans' world championships) gold medallist Dawid Kaszuba, who reached the distance of the day - 8 metres but touched the landing with his hands.
The fourth inSJders Cup competition was held on 17 June 2023. For the first time ever, a play-off system was contested. During the event, a new hill record was set with 8 m several times.
The next, fifth edition of the competition is planned for 31 August 2024.

@Budowlaniec
