History:

At the end of the 1950s, among young people from Starogard Gdański, winter sports were particularly popular, including ice skating on ice rinks organized by local culture animators from TKKF (Society for the Promotion of Physical Culture) - Władysław Kreft and social worker J. Szwedowski. Due to the fact that jumping on the ice was forbidden and the youth wanted to jump over barrels, Kreft as an alternative offered to allow ... ski jumping.
) This idea was met with great support, so in the 1960 season a hill construction committee was set up. With the help of local institutions it was possible to build a hill with a wooden inrun on one of the small knolls on the outskirts of Starogard.
About 100 participants of various ages took part in the first competition, jumping on skis of all kinds - even on cross-country skis. In addition to jumping, there were also downhill, slalom and cross-country. Every weekend the jump was besieged by skiing enthusiasts. Over the next few years, several competitions took place, and the best distance remembered by the locals on the hill was 24 meters.
However, in the mid-1960s, due to Władysław Kreft's illness, the hill lost its guardian and began to deteriorate. Finally, for safety reasons, the inrun of the first and only ski jump in Kociewie region has been demolished. In the 90s, the last remains of the object were disposed of, and stairs were built in the place of landing slope.
