History:

In 1912 at Krummhübel (today Karpacz) a ski jumping hill was built up and named after the nearby mountain „Schneekoppe“ (Polish: Śnieżka). The opening competition took place on February 4, 1913 and the longest jump at that time was done by Perry Smith. Two times, in 1920 and 1932 the hill was enlarged and a wooden inrun construction was built up. The last hill record was set up by Karl-Heinz Breiter with 45.5 meters in 1938. During World War II the jumping hill had to be given up. At a place nearby then in 1946 the still today used Orlinek ski jumping hill was built up as a successor of this jump.
