The first ski jumping hill on Brekka Hill in Sørreisa municipality was built in 1948 by Skøelv IL. Jumps over 45 meters were possible there, the hill record is said to have been 48 meters. However, this ski jump was given up over time. In the 1970s, there was a new Brekka hill in the immediate vicinity.
