Jannebakken in Hammerfest was undoubtedly an exceptional ski jumping hill. It had a remarkable location between houses and was built over a public street. The space underneath the artificial knoll could be used as a garage for cars.
There were even plans to enlarge it and replace the wooden construction by concrete. After preparing measures, these plans were stopped, since the area was not suitable for it. In 1972, the smaller hill got a wooden inrun tower. In 1980, the facility was demolished after 15 years of controversies.
