History:

Only one year after founding in 1932, Ekne IL decided to build a ski jumping hill, which was completed in 1934. It was frequently in use until 1940, when World War II made all sport activities stop. These came back to life not before the end of the war.
However, ski jumping suffered a lot due to mild winters, which happened until the 1950's. Still, the ski jump was renovated in 1957-1958 and equipped with floodlights, which proved to be a good decision. In the 1961-1962 winter, a competition with 146(!) competitors took place on the re-named Idarbakken. From then on, it was frequently used until the 1970's.
