History:

In May 1986, a ski jumping competition was held in the middle of Bergen, on the steps from St. John's Church down to the old town. The occasion was the hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest, during which the city stood upside down for a week! Depending on the source, between 15,000 and 30,000 spectators gathered for the ski jumping event on the temporary snow jump. By the way, Roger Ruud won with 21.5 meters.
