Skiing activities at Kragerø date back already until the early 19th century. The first ski jumping hills where then set up already in 1880’s and on 1888-02-19 the first official competition was organized.
In 1900 a fixed ski jumping hill was constructed at Stusdalen at a location where still today’s two bakken are situated. By now these ski jumps should be deconstructed, but there are some voices raising to keep the historical location as a heritage.
There were even further jumps in the area, as for example Eika, which was used frequently in 1950's and 60's.
