History:

Bødalsbakken was built in 1952, when Gausdal was still in one community with Vestre. That is also why the ski club back then was called Vestre Gausdal IL. The community funded the construction of the hill with 2,000 Norwegian Crowns (about 190 Euros).
Also the modernization in 1970 was funded by the community, this time with 20,000 Crowns (about 1,900 Euros). However, the hill was only used until Christmas 1973. During the competition on that very day, Finn Halvorsen set the final hill record.
The biggest highlight in the period of use were the Norwegian Junior National Championships in 1966, in which over 180 competitors appeared. This hill was also the venue of one of the first ever women's competitions.
