On the north side of the Løkjeshøvda mountain near Heggenes in the municipality of Øystre Slidre, Fram IL, which was founded in 1924, built a ski jump in 1927. The outrun of the 60-meter hill led onto the Heggefjord, which was then called Herang.
In 1949, the community's sports clubs merged to form Øystre Slidre IL.
The ski jumping facility was demolished around 1960 when the road along the Heggefjord was being built.
Later Storefossbakken was constructed on the east side of Løkjeshøvda.
