History:

Vikabakken was built in 1933 and was located in the village of Torpo, which belongs to the community of Ål. Shortly after its completion, Reidar Andersen, who was one of the best ski jumpers at that time (mid-1930's), jumped a hill record of 54 meters. Due to the fact he performed this jump outside of a competition, it was not counted as official.
In 1962, the ski jump was rebuilt, which also effected that the flight curve was much lower than before. According to Hallgrim Ødegård, Vikabakken was used for the last time in 1973 or 1974.
