Kontorbakken was located at the entrance of the nickel mines in Kykkelsrud district of the town of Askim. Its location was also the reason for its unusual name. The hill was built around 1940, however evidence of activity even before this time can be found.
In 1968, the wooden inrun had to be replaced by a new one made of iron. During this reconstruction, also floodlights were installed. The hill was used until the mid-1980's and eventually demolished in 2000.
