History:

In 1931 the maybe most traditional ski jumping hill of Japan was constructed with support of the former crown prince. It was a 60 meter hill, which was constructed by a baron called Kishichiro Ōkura, whose name the jump still owns today. The 1969 built Okurayama-90-meter-hill was hosting site of the large hill compe- titions of the Olympic Winter Games 1972 at Sapporo and since it has been a solid part of the international ski jumping circus. The jump was converted for the Winter Universiade 1991 and also for the first Nordic Ski Championships in Asia in 2007 the HS 134 ski jump has been modernized. By the way, you have a wonderful overview down on the 1.8 million people city of Sapporo from the head of the jump.

Ciekawostka. Kilka dni temu młoda Japonka Yuuki Ito skoczyła tutaj aż 139,5 m.
