The ski jumping hill of Roccaraso in Abruzzo was built in 1925 by the local ski club with the support of the ski club of Rome - which explains the name of the ski jump. In mid-1930s it was renovated and in 1953 completely rebuilt as a ski jumping facility with a total of three ski jumps. The large "Trampolino Roma" allowed jumps up to 75 meters. It was used until 1964 for national and international competitions. The smaller hills were probably used until around 1990 - in 1985, Ivo Pertile won the youth championships there ahead of Robert Cecon.
