History:

On January 5, 1932, the first ski jumping competition was held on the newly constructed ski jumping hill at the mountain station of Kohlerer Bahn (Funivia del Colle), a funicular that had already been set up at the small mountain village of Kohlern (Colle) above South Tyrol's capital Bozen (Bolzano) in 1908. The ski jump allowed jumps of up to 35 meters and offered high snow-security due to its location at 1100 m altitude.
