History:
First plans to build a ski jumping hill in Bad Klosterlausnitz in Thruingia were made in 1952-1953. However, it took until 1958 to finally build a small ski jump at Moorgrund between Bad Klosterlausnitz and Weißenborn. The hill was inaugurated in 1959 and in subsequently years it had been constantly modified by the enthusiastic athletes of BSG Traktor Weißenborn. In 1962 an 8 m high wooden inrun tower has constructed, such that the hill now allowed jumps of 20 meter and more. Through the re-construction of Vogtlandschanze in Klingenthal, some old plastic mattings became available in 1964 and were used to equip Moorgrundschanze for summer ski jumping. Unfortunately, ski jumping activities already ended in early 1970's and the hill was deconstructed piece by piece.
