For sportsmen and inhabitants of the 1100 people municipality Grumbach at Annaberg district there was a special highlight on February 23, 1976, because the works on an own ski jumping hill, which had started already three years before, could be successfully finished with a opening competition. Not far of the village mill in the direction of Schmalzgrube the sportsmen of the club and many voluntary workers from the whole community had constructed this ski jumping hill, which had a steel-made inrun tower, in complete internal labour leaded by J. Weiland. At the soil movements for the landing hill the club was supported by the local LPG with a bulldozer.
From then on the pupils of Grumbach had been practising every winter and were taking part in districtal championships. In 1979 the ski jump was covered with plastic mattings and during this time R. Kittel from Königswalde acted as ski jumping coach, who was practising with young jumpers from Königswalde and Grumbach on this jump until 1989. After the political turnover the training group decayed and in 1993 the ski jump was demolished.
