History:

Already on 1927-12-18 at Marienberg Galgenbergschanze was inaugurated, on it jumps on up to 30 meters were realized. From 1931 on people were jumping on Johannes-Böttcher-Schanze at Pobershau and after World War II ski jumpers of BSG Aufbau Pobershau-Gebirge used Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sprungschanze.
The Artur-Becker-Schanzen ski jumping facility at the town Gebirge belonging to Marienberg were opened in 1971. The three plastic covered hills K32, K25 and K14 had been used by SV Dynamo Marienberg until the political turnover in 1990, but after that interest in ski jumping declined and in 1993 the steel-made inrun towers were destroyed for 100,000 DM. For only three years provisional 15 meter jump at Sandloch was standing, where also before the construction of Arthur-Becker-Schanze competitions had been hosted and which belonged to Verein BSG Motor Gebirge-Gelobtland. But since, the activities of local ski club ATSV Gebirge/Gelobtland have been focused only on cross-country skiing.
