History:

At Bräunsdorf in the Saxonian district Freiberg the first ski jumping competitions were held in early 1950's, when a small snow jump was set up at a suitable slope in the south-west of the village Siegfried in winter times.
Around 1954-55 the larger junior jumping hill with wooden inrun tower and take-off was set up there. It was constructed by the members of the small sports club BSG Einheit and supported by the local maintenance depot. In cold and snowy winters it was used for ski jumping and the tradition was kept alive until 1980's.
Unfortunately the planned championships of Freiberg district had to be cancelled from 1979 to 1981 since there was not enough snow. In early 1992 the ski jumping hill was dismantled as a part of a job-creating measure.
