History:

Nattenberg is located at the south-eastern border of Lüdenscheid and in 1932 the first ski jump of SK Lüdenscheid was built there with its outrun facing the football ground. Around 500 spectators attended the inauguration on March 13, 1932.
After World War II the destroyed facility was rebuilt as a 30 meter natural hill in 1953-54, since ski jumping again gained more and more popularity also in western German areas.
Due to varying snow conditions over the winter seasons it was decided to built a plastic covered hill. This very difficult project was finally realized in 1997-98, when the jump was also made smaller, a inrun structure set up and a counter slope filled up in the outrun. The small but active ski jumping section of the Skiklub covers the hill with nets before winters in order to be able to use the ski jump during winter season, too.
