History:

The first ski jumping hill in Northrhine-Westphalian Bad Berleburg was set up in 1936, by the new chairman of the ski club Sauerland at Bad Berleburg Ernst Kaufmann, sitauted between small and big Höllscheid and named after the alpine Olympic gold medal winner of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and umpteen times world champion Christl Lanz.
After the reunion after World War II and the fusion into VfL Bad Berleburg Bärenschanze K25 and Kohlwaldschanze K65 were constructed. Latter had been used from 1951-52 to end 1980's, one of the last competitions being the Western German championships in 1985-86.
