The Wurmbergschanze in Braunlage, Lower Saxony, on which Continentalcup competitions ttook place annually in 1990's and 2000's, had one of the most modern inruns of the world after its renovation in 2002. The metal inrun with a glass-ceramic layer can be heated and is consequently not influenced by the often difficult weather conditions.
Already in 1922 the first 40 meter hill was constructed on the summit of 972 m high Wurmberg and one year later the DM was organized. After World War II the ski jump, which was now located directly at the border to GDR, was reconstructed in 1951 and enlarged into an 80 meter hill in 1984. Already in 1991 the conversion into K83 followed and in 2001/2002 the enlargement into a 90 meter hill.
