History:

In 1927/28 at wooden ski jumping hill was built in the black forest community St. Märgen at Maierhofberg. Because of weather influences and the all-year setting up and down it couldn’t no longer be used already after short time.
The construction of the Ohmenberg natural jumping hill started on November 28, 1933. The opening competition could only be made in the following season, on February 10, 1935. Winner in class I was Oskar Hättich of SC St. Märgen with jumps on 28.5 m, 35.5 m and 41.0 m.
As a late-returner from Russia Oskar Hättich won further competitions on the Ohmenbergschanze and the opening contest on Spießhornschanze on February 19, 1950.
For the winter season 1950/51 the ski jumping hill at Ohmenberg was improved in the outrun and the downhill course to Wildgutach was prepared in voluntary work for the planned alpine downhill competition. The Zinkenlauf for the ALM-Cup – donated by Adelbert Löffler, painter – and the ski jumping competition on Ohmenbergschanze on March 20, 1971, which was hosted as a district championship. At good snow conditions and in front of many spectators the ski jumping contest on the well-prepared Ohmenbergschanze could be held. Winner was Gerhard Wehrle of SC Waldau. But this was already the last competition on this ski jumping hill.
