History:

First a ski jumping hill was set up on Edelwang, where the opening competition was organized in February 1952. Bernhard Lindenlaub of SC Wiesensteig became first hill record holder with 29 meters and even improved this one on 34 m in 1955. Ski jumping competitions were very popular in these days. District championships were organized on Edelwangschanze several times with attendances up to 1000 spectators. A number of athletes from Neidlingen participated successfully in events at Neidlingen, Wiesensteig or Laichingen. The local tournament at Neidlingen was called "Kirschwasserspringen" in these days, later it was a ski jumping and downhill competition for "Reußenstein-Cup" with an alpine run at Burzkopf in the morning and ski jumping in the afternoon.
In early 1960's the ski jumping hill was converted. In winter 1963 Herbert Brack from Donzdorf set up an incredible hill record of 39 meters, which hasn't been beaten since.
In 1982 a competiton was hosted on Edelwangschanze after a long pause before. Albrecht Hepperle became district champion with 26 m.
In 2008 the ski jumps were reactivated again and then called "Ernst Ruoß-Gedächtnisschanze". In the years 2009 and 2010 it was possible to hold club championships in ski jumping.
