At the foot of Hochfirst in Black Forest Skiclub Saig was founded in 1908 and refounded as Sportverein Saig after World War I. In this period ski jumpers went over a hill "im Loch", situated at Mühlingerstraße between Saig and Lenzkirch, reaching distances less than 20 meters. The new "Fürstenberg-Schanze" at Herzenäugle was then completed on 1925-08-07. There jumps around 40 meters were possible. The ski jump had been used for many decades, later also by Skiclub Lenzkirch.
