At the beginning of the 1950s, the Schramberg Ski Club demanded the construction of its own ski jump. In 1953, the construction of a 14-meter-high wooden ski jump on the Reute in Tennenbronn started, where cross-country skiing was also possible due to the snow-reliable location. In the winter of 1953-54, the first internal competitions were held. The official opening of the Purpen-Schanze then took place on February 15, 1955, with the district championships in Nordic combined. Due to numerous problems - lack of snow, difficulties with the preparation, and disinterest of the public - there was only sporadic jumping. The last competition with a hill record of 41 meters took place in 1969. After the skiing cabin burned down in 1970, also the jumping hill was demolished in 1972.
