History:
The first ski jumping hill at Kniebis, a 960 meter high ridge in Black Forest, was built in 1908 at Eichelberg. Most likely it was set up by the snow shoe department of the Black Forest Club of Wurttemberg and due to its location it was also called "Schanze am Moorschwimmbad" or "Lammschwimmbad". Sometimes it is still used today as a practising hill.
Furthermore there was from 1909-10 onwards a ski jumping hill at Bäckerrain (Ochsenhang), which allowed jumps up to 18 m, and Kniebisschanze at Abendwiese.
