History:

The baker and hotel owner Funk was the first promoter and sponsor of wintersports in the climatic health-resort Dobel in northern Black Forest. In end-1920s, he initiated the construction of "his" ski jumping hill, collected donations within the village and co-funded it. In 1928, the ski jumping hill on Dobel was built and then allowed jumps on around 30 meters. Since the ski jumping hill was constructed on unfavorable terrain, it was only used for a short time after World War II and given up in 1955-56. First it was only closed, then later deconstructed due to safety reasons.
