The existing 35 meter jumping hill of Lapua was deconstructed in June 2010 in order to create space for a new ski jumping facility with K50, which were already completed in late 2010.
On 2011-02-19 the HS 55 was officially opened with the Finnish championships of girls and veterans. Therewith Lapua will become an important ski jumping center of Ostrobothnia region.
