History:

The biggest ski jump in Espoo, called Kilon hyppyrimäki was built in 1960-1961 and was officialy opened on 12th February, 1961. It achieved its popularity peak in period from 1966 to 1968, which later decreased. The ski jump had a too big inrun tower with a 4 meter (!) high take-off, which made it very difficult for ski jumpers. Also due to increasing maintenance costs and the city administration refusing to buy the ski jump, it was finally dismantled during 1970s.
