The first ski jump at Pustevny was constructed in 1920 at the mount Tanecnice (1084 m) and after several conversions at the Czechoslovak championships in 1928 even 38.5 m was jumped. Two years later Norway’s Sigmund Ruud reached a hill record of 49 meters. Neighbouring to this ski jump not far of the “hotel Tanecnice” in 1930 a K21 ski jump with wooden tower was constructed and both hills were used until 1960’s.
In 1975 the ski clubs of the neighbour cities Frenštát and Rožnov cooperated and helped to rebuilt both ski jumping hills as a steel construction with K-Points of 57 m and 33 m). Until 1980’s these very snow-secure hills were used for many national competitions especially in youth sector, but today there is now more ski jumping in this small town at the border of Beskids, but mainly alpine skiing.
