History:

At the slope of Chotovický Vrch (Kottowitz Mountain) between Nový Bor and Skalice, a ski jumping hill with a 20 meter high wooden inrun tower was built in 1961. However, the tower collapsed only a short time later during a strong winter storm.
Due to the efforts of sports teacher Libor Konečný, the hill could be reconstructed already in the following year. The Czecho-Slovakian organisation for the support of children and youth, particularily in culutre and sports (SRPŠ) was also engaged in the reconstruction. A total of 3500 hours of labor were contributed by the local youth and financial support of 80,000 crownes was provided. The hill was re-opened in 1963, but only a short time later Libor Konečný died tragically. This had consequences also for the ski jumping activities in the town and only two competitions were ever held on the hill. Later, the tower was deconstructed and moved to Kraslice.
