History:
The first known ski jumping hill at this place was built in 1924 by the German club Gablonzer Sportgesellschaft (GSG). It was located in a birch forest and called "Zillertalschanze". Regular competitions were held here, in 1928 and 1930 even the HDW championships, where the best German and Czech jumpers took part. In 1937, many thousand spectators watched the competitions, where distances of more than 50 meters were reached.
After World War II, the hill was restored once again and became the venue of the Jablonec Cup from 1950 on. The longest jump in that period were 44 meters, jumped in 1950. In 1945, another hill with a critical point of 40 meters was built near the Severák cottage.
