History:

The members of WSV Vomp, founded in 1931, built the ski jump at Sigmundslust Castle on a voluntary basis in 1932-33. Maximilian Freiherr von Biegeleben provided the property and 30 solid cubic meters of wood for the construction. The first comradeship competition on the 36-meter hill took place on January 29, 1933, with Ernst Pircher from Vomp making the opening jump at 27 meters. From then on, competitions were mostly held on Epiphany. Bernhard Hosp jumped the best distance in 1934 with 32.5 meters.
After World War II, WSV Vomp was also very active in Nordic Combined. The best jumper from Vomp at that time was Max Golser, who also competed in the Olympics. However, in the 1960s, the Schlossberg-Schanze had to be given up because the ground became a new development area. Instead, in 1969 the Josef-Gspan-Schanze was built and became the home ground of Armin Kogler.
