on 2013-11-12
At Ramsau am Dachstein there is a new inrun test facility for ski jumpers, called "Speed Race". The world-novelty was recently inspected by FIS Race Director Walter Hofer.
Representatives of various national associations have engaged in Ramsau am Dachstein already with the "Speed Race" of the Austrian Ski Federation, which was installed by Peter Riedel GmbH and Rehau AG in the past weeks and months. In a single module are three inrun tracks - a world first that will provide important insights to the Austrian Ski Federation in the start-up speeds for ski jumpers.
On Monday, the 11th of November was the most important representative of jumping of the International Ski Federation in Ramsau representations. Walter Hofer, FIS race director of the division since 1992, personally took the test track in inspection and said afterwards: "This is a very interesting facility, which will open a new dimension for the ski jumping. What the tests provide ultimately, will show the results, but I can imagine that other nations might be interested in the installation of such facilities."
The FIS World Cup 2013/2014 season begins in less than two weeks in Klingenthal. Let's see how the Ramsauer test track by then can already condense on the results!
