In order to secure future World Cups at Willingen by the construction of a new judges' tower and permanent flood-lighting, SC Willingen is asking ski jumping fans for support.
SC Willingen starts campaign in order to secure the World Cup ski jumping event
The International Ski Federation (FIS) asked the Ski-Club Willingen to build a new judges' tower and permanent flood-lighting until 2013. The cost of this project will be 2.2 million Euro. Time is running, because the project has to be realized already by fall next year. So Ski-Club Willingen and its members are approaching the subject with a cool head by hot heart.
"For weeks we have been in talks on all political levels already, in order to aquire grants from public funds for the stipulated construction measures", describes ski club president and OC leader Jürgen Hensel the situation. Despite of the expected support by municipality, district, state and federal administratives, SC Willingen assumes that there has to come further effort from its own side, since each Euro will count and be important in the end. Due to this reason the persons in charge are promoting any possible kind of support in the media and in public.
So now the campaign "Building stones for Mühlenkopfschanze" has been started and shall provide start-up financing. This measures proves that the 100-year-old Ski-Club Willingen with its more than 1100 members, friends, business partners, supporters and sponsors is not sitting back and taking things easy, but taking initiative for securing the World Cup ski jumping event on the world's biggest large hill ski jump in future times after the up-coming events from Feburary 10 to 12, 2012.
"Building stones for Mühlenkopfschanze" worth 20 to 1,000 Euro can be bought from Ski-Club-Willingen from anyone, who wants to support the necessary construction measures in the World Cup stadium at Mühlenkopf. No matter if as a private person, fan or company and sponsor. All supporters shall be perpetuated with their names on a board inside the new judges' tower after its completion. This shall show the broad support for the club and its sports patronization of the immensely important construction measures, that everyone is hoping for. Because each Euro generated by the World Cup events is directly flowing into the support of the club's young athletes , who compete with great sportive ambitions in biathlon, cross-country skiing, ski jumping and nordic combination. The very important additional financial means from the campaign "Building stones for Mühlenkopfschanze" will be entrusted just for its purpose and prove the broad support of the local people for securing the Ski Jumping World Cup at Willingen in the near future.
"We hope that this campaign will be a success and are happy about anyone who is participating and supporting us", continues Jürgen Hensel. "It is important that we all together send out a signal, how important the World Cup is for the region." Also the race director of the International Ski Federation (FIS) responsible for ski jumping, Dr. Walter Hofer, is in favour of the club's initiative and campaign. "I think it is great that you guys from Willingen are tackling it on your own", is what the Austrian told SCW.

Willingen
