Planica Nordic Center to be build for 25m Euro
on 2011-02-17
Already in early 2010 the plans of a modernization of the ailing ski jumping facilities in the "valley of ski jumps" Planica in Slovenia were published. Now the planing advanced one more step and the project cost was estimated on 25m Euro.
On Wednesday a Slovenian government office announced, that the construction of Planica Nordic Center will cost 25 million Euro. The main part of the financing of 21m Euro will be taken over by the European Fund for Regional Development.
On the more than 100,000 m² large area in Planica the seven existing ski jumping hills around Letalnica fyling hill and its infrastructure will be brought to a modern level. Additionally a cross-country center shall be build, in order to keep the historic character of the "valley of the ski jumps" on the one hand and create a sustainable training center for Nordic sportsmen from whole Slovenia on the other.
Beside sportive aspects the Slovenian government expects a positive effect on tourism and business of the region, as well as the creation of a lot of new jobs for construction and maintenance of Planica Nordic Center. First plans include the completing of works by 2013.

Bist Du sicher (Quelle !!!)? Ich glaube eher, dass die Verantwortlichen in Planica so eitel sind, dass sie alles daran setzen, den Weltrekord nach Slowenien zurück zu holen.

Warum wird dann nicht auch mit Vikersund mitgegangen. Sie könnten doch die Schanze noch dazu ausbauen. Die par Mio. machen den Kohl auch nicht mehr fett.
Toller Plan, aber die Letalnica-Flugschanze wird wahrscheinlich nicht vergrößert. Walter Hofer hat gesagt, dass Vikersund die Größte Schanze vorerst bleiben wird.
